Training Calendar

Black Creek District – Boy Scouts of America (BSA) – conducted a Super Training Weekend for adult Scout Leaders and Boy Scouts at the St. Johns River Base at Echockotee on Saturday, August 15, 3015.

In attendance were sixty-three (63) participants and ten (10) instructors. Participants learned basic training on their roles and responsibilities as volunteer Cub Scout Den Leaders, Pack Cubmasters, Troop Scoutmasters, and Crew Venturing Advisors.

The Boy Scouts learned their roles and responsibilities as Den Chiefs while they provide mentoring to younger Cub Scouts in their Cub Scout Dens.

An all-day training course was also offered. This course is called Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO). This training provides Cub Scout Leaders with the information on policies and procedures for conducting Cub Scout Family Campouts.

On September 12, the Black Creek District will conduct training for Chartered Organization Representatives at St. Johns River Base at Echockotee off Doctors Lake Drive. This training is provided for those volunteers who represent the organizations that are granted a charter by the Boy Scouts of America to provide outreach programs for youth. These programs take the form of Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams, and Venturing Crews. Working in conjunction with the BSA, these organizations form of owner-operators of the Scouting program.
