Twenty-four Scouters
from three different NFC districts completed BSA BALOO
training Saturday. From the districts of Marion, Great
Muscogee and Black Creek, the participants gathered upon
the grounds of St Luke’s Catholic Church in Middleburg
for a beautiful sunny day of learning. They enjoyed
making new friends and learned the basics, and a few
tricks on family-based, Cub Scout camping. Breakfast
AND lunch were provided courtesy of Pack 425. Trainers
Kimberly Powell, Jeff Richardson, Ron Burkhart and “Camp
Cookie” Carl Marfut ensured the event was factual, fun,
and flavorful. The participants’ camping experience
varied – some had camped since they were Cub Scouts
themselves -- while others had not yet camped. Yet
everyone walked away with a refreshed perspective on
BSA’s Camping Policies, safety rules, campout program
planning, and learned a few camping “tricks” to take
back to their own Packs. Enjoy camping, everyone, and
remember the Cub Scout Motto: Do Your Best!
