ROUNDTABLE NOTES 11/01/07

Convened – 7:00PM

Honor Air – Ken Ashe - Thanks to all those who participated in this event in the rain. The veterans really appreciated the support.

Camporee 2007 – Ken Ashe - Thanks to all those who participated and volunteers. The event was a success.

Food Drive – Elaine Halley - covers the months of Nov, Dec & Jan to stock local food banks in Clay County; Packs/Troops can pick their own location of collection and there are no deadline specifics given by the District; please contact Elaine to advise of the area that you have chosen so there is no overlap of areas; additional information & contact information can be found of the Black Creek District web site.

Popcorn – Troy Nagle – Thanks to all the Popcorn Chairs throughout the District; Nov 2^nd is the deadline for Take Order forms; will start sorting popcorn on Nov 16^th at TCI Fulfillment Services in Green Cove Springs @ 4PM; Dec 6^th Unit popcorn payment checks are due.

District Adult Volunteer Recognition Dinner – Lisa Zehner – theme: Volunteer appreciation - 11/15/07 Camp Echockotee Ashley Lodge at 6PM; adults only; catered by Carraba’s $3 per person; need to let Lisa know how many from Pack/Troop/Crews will attend for count to caterer; tickets can be ordered at Roundtables or at the door the night of the dinner.

Volunteer awards:

Sparkplug Award – who keeps the “spark” in your Pack/Troop/Crew?? At least one person from every Pack/Troop/Crew entered will be recognized at the dinner; submit your entries on the Black Creek District web site & must be in by this weekend.

District Award of Merit – Dick Keyworth – needs to be in by Nov 2^nd; awards to be given out at District dinner on Nov 15^th.

Silver Beaver Award – Dick Keyworth - due to the Council by Nov 30^th ; forms & contact information can be found on the Black Creek District web site.

District Fundraiser – Dick Keyworth - to raise funds for leader training for the District; we are participating in the annual Westside Business Leaders Association/Wal-Mart Shopping Spree; raffle tickets are $1 and the District will receive $.75 for each ticket sold; two winners will be selected & will receive a gift certificate good at any Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club in Jacksonville; must be sold & back to Dick by night of District dinner; additional information & contact information can be found on the Black Creek District web site.

Training –

Woodbadge Training looking for 12 participants from Black Creek District; course dates – Feb 8^th –10^th  & March 7^th -9^th @ Camp Shands

Black Creek – Train A Thon – March 15^th 2008

University of Scouting – January 26^th 2008 @ Lakeside Jr High Orange Park – course descriptions etc can be found on the North Florida Council web site

Roundtable changes – starting in January; set up will begin at 6:30 with snacks & drinks; meeting will start at 7PM with Pledge and prayer; 7:05PM-7:25PM there will be a 15 min opening presentation (song/skit) by either a Cub Scout Pack or Boy Scout Troop; there is a schedule that will be designed & used – blue for Packs – red for Troops; 7:25PM closing with DE with Council/District announcements; 7:30PM breakouts by Pack or Troop with appropriate announcements at each break out session not in the general session.

Unit Inventory Lists – Scott Wenzel – please pick up your lists if you did not attend the meeting for Unit Inventory at breakout.
