Black Creek’s
April Roundtable was held on April 7 at Asbury
United Methodist Church. The following items of
interest were discussed:
IOLS: The
2011 District IOLS training weekend is being
scheduled for November 4th - 6th at Camp
Echockotee. IOLS training is designed for Boy Scout
Troop Leaders and WEBELOS Leaders.
The IOLS Staff
will have a planning kickoff meeting on Saturday
April 30th, 9am at the Clay Community Church.
Questions: contact
Jeff Richardson or cell: 904-677-6194.
Day Camp:
Day Camp has been posted on the Black Creek
website. The fees should be posted by next week. Day
Camp and Twilight Camp are looking for volunteers.
Contact
Alison Duval for more information and to set-up
a time for her to come to your Pack and do a Day
Camp presentation.
BB Gun and
Archery Range Masters: On May 7 there will be a
combined Range Master course at Camp Echockotee.
Anyone wishing to be a Range Master, or renew their
cards, contact
Alison Duval for information.
BSA
Lifeguard Class: A BSA Lifeguard Class will be
offered in the near future at Camp Echockotee. Day
Camp and Twilight Camp are both in need of
lifeguards for this summer. If the Scout volunteers
at Day Camp or Twilight Camp, there will be a
discounted cost for the class. Otherwise, the class
will cost the Scout $75. If you have any Scouts or
Venturers interested in taking the BSA Lifeguard
course, contact
Donna Jeter.
Camp Cards:
Unsold camp cards were turned in last night. If you
would like more cards or have questions about the
camp cards, contact
Troy Nagle.
TPC: The
golf tournament is looking for Scouts to work this
event on May 13-15. The Scouts will be paid for
their work. Please contact
Dick Keyworth for more information.
Roundtable
Project: I am undertaking a project for
Roundtable. I would like to compile a history of
Black Creek District. If you have any stories, know
of any notable Scouts from our District, have
pictures, etc., please contact me. My hope is to put
together a presentation for our Roundtable Dinner in
September.
Please join us for
May’s Roundtable on May 5th at 7pm at
Asbury United Methodist Church where the topic will
be “OA:
History and Purpose of the Order of the Arrow”.
