Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (NFC Event #657)

 

 

October 28, 29 & 30th

Camp Echockotee – Orange Park

 

This weekend event will offer Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills Training The Old Fashioned Way. This training is designed to hone the outdoor camping skills of all scout leaders. The training program is designed in the same format as a “Mini Woodbadge” by focusing on troop structure, event planning, camping, scouting skills and outdoor cooking. You are guaranteed to have fun. The training staff is made up of the most senior scouters in Black Creek District.

 

Who:

All interested Cub & Boy Scout and Venturing adult leaders.

 

What:

Training in the outdoor aspects of Boy Scout Troop operations for all interested Cub Scout & Boy Scout and Venturing Leaders. This course is the completion of the series which is required for Scoutmasters to be considered completely trained. This course is supposed to be completed prior to attendance at Woodbadge Training.

 

 

  • Mandatory Pre-Meeting will be at
    Roundtable Thursday, October 6th @ 7:00 pm.                           
    Location:  Camp Echokotee’s Ashley Lodge

 

  • We recommend that everyone attending take the following courses online in the   E-Learning Center of BSA.

 

1)    NOW MANDATORY for ALL Leaders – Youth Protection

2)    NOW REQUIRED FOR ALL TOUR PLANS – Hazardous Weather

3)    This is Scouting

4)    Fast Start for your specific Position

 

There are other courses available online as well you can take in your leisure that are not necessary to achieve your best for this course but are recommended as well and they are:  Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, Climb On Safely, Trek Safely, Physical Wellness.

 

  • Course Cost is $15.00 per person and includes a Patch & Certificate.

  • Online Registration (Maximum: First 48 paid participants)

  • Absolutely No “Walk Ups or Show Ups” after October 6, 2011 Meeting

Medical Form: Completed Medical Certificate in accordance to BSA policy to be turned in at pre-meeting.

 “Show Up” attendees will not be accepted after October 6.
