OP Skate Park
Bat and/or Purple Martin Houses
Markers to indicate where native plants, trees & flowers grow
Ours is an almost totally volunteer project where we (a few OP moms &
citizens) have created, mapped out, and cleared a Nature Trail. This is
located in the woods behind the OP Skate Park. City & state funds were
used to reconstruct the Skate Park, and a beautiful Fitness Trail
surrounding the Park. We have new BBQ grills, restrooms, a playground,
and two pavilions with picnic tables. Our location is at the end of
Fromhart Street, off of Gano Avenue, across the street from the OPAA.
Many possibilities exist that may be developed here.
It is our wish for a few Eagle Projects to be completed on the grounds -
several acres of woods are owned by the city and are adjacent to the
park. There are many different projects that could serve a lasting and
very beneficial purpose in drawing more attention to native Florida, as
our trail has been constructed with minimal impact on the natural
surroundings.
