Calling all troops!

 

A chance to sharpen your patrol’s and troop's basic skills to start the new scout year.  Competition events will focus on basic skills for all scouts.

 

Patrol and troop competition events.

 

 

Register at the north Florida council using event sign-up form.

Volunteers needed to help “judge” patrol competition events

Annual Health and Medical form need to be turned in Friday evening during check-in.

Scoutmaster Notes #1

 

  • Check-in starts at 16:00.  Units will need to provide roster of patrols, medical forms.  Sites will be assigned by size of units.  We have plenty of room and will work to accommodate the units.

 

  • Scoutmaster/Senior patrol Cracker barrel will take place at 21:00 at the Meninank Lodge.

 

  • Troops will need to provide the following items for the events:

 

      • Scout Spirit”- Troops and patrols will be judged on this.
      • Helping Hand- will need everyone’s help to make this a success.
      • Hatchet for fire building event
      • Poles for stretcher relay
      • Compass for each patrol unit for orienteering event
      • Digital Camera for Senior Patrol Leader Competition

 

  • Gateway and campsite inspection will take place between 10:00 and 15:00

 

  • Patrol Competition Events:

 

          • Stretcher relay
          • Knot tying relay
          • Fire building/string relay
          • Orienteering course
          • Chariot build relay
          • Canoe relay race

 

  • Senior Patrol leader competition:  Event calls for Senior patrol Leader to take 20 photos with a digital camera that can be downloaded by USB to computer.  Scout is to take photos of “Scouts in Action” of other units than their own.  Scout will identify his top 3 picks for judging.

 

  • Scoutmaster competition- .22 Rifle Shooting competition for Scoutmasters.

 

  • Flag Ceremony- Available to any Scout needing to participate in Flag Raising ceremony.  Please provide names at Cracker Barrel on Friday night.  Will have 3 opportunities to participate.  Scout will need to be in Class A uniform.

 

  • Open Swim- working details to have waterfront open for Scouts to swim.  More details to follow.
  • Skits- will need to be submitted for approval to Patrick Beard by 13:00 on Saturday.
  • Volunteers- still in need of some “Volunteers” to help with the patrol competition.  Please forward any names to Chuck Haynes or Robert Midgett for placement.
