The Annual Recognition Dinner for the Black Creek District of the Boy Scouts of America was held on Thursday, November 12, at 7 PM at the Family Life Center of the Orange Park United Methodist Church.
More than seventy-five adult Scouters attended the meeting. Following dinner, several awards were presented to those attending to include the Spark Plug Award, some Training Awards, and some Leadership Awards.
This meeting ended with the awarding of the Boy Scouts District Award of Merit. To receive this award, adult Scouters are recommended to a District Order of Merit Committee. The members of this Committee review these recommendations. This award is presented to Scouters who go above and beyond the job description of their position in the unit (Pack, Troop, or Crew) with service to the District. This person is one who has made a positive impact on youth in Scouting and the community.
This year, the District recognized three (3) Scouters who made a positive impact on youth in Scouting and in the community.
