Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation Training (BALOO)

Tour Permits now require one BALOO trained adult
accompany a pack that is camping.

What: This training is designed to provide Outdoor Leadership training to Cub Scout volunteers who have completed “This is Scouting” and Cub Scout Leader Specific Training. The target participant is a new Cub Scout leader who has minimal camping experience but wants to plan and carry out an entry level experience for the pack.

We’ll discuss basic camping guidelines, cooking, campfire ceremonies, safety, planning, pizzazz, storytelling and lots more!

Who Should Attend BALOO: All Cub Scout Leaders and Pack Committee Members who have received formal training for their specific pack or den leadership role (Cub Masters, Assistant Cub Masters, Den Leaders, Pack Committee Members). (Register quickly – class size is limited to 25)

The training is open, however to ANYONE, and new parents are encouraged to attend & learn some of the finer points of Cub Scout camping.

When: Saturday, August 14th, 2010, 8am-2pm.

Where: American Legion Post 250, Middleburg, FL (1/2 mile east of Blanding Blvd, on Hwy 218). (Click here for MAP).

Cost: $5 per person (covers lunch (Dutch oven food) costs)

LUNCH: Dutch oven meal, chips & sodas.

WHAT TO BRING: wear your BSA uniform shirt, folding camping chair, sunscreen, umbrella/rain gear, coffee cup, pen & paper, Pack Flag, and Scout pride!  BRING YOUR PACK FLAG!  Oh, and don’t forget to bring your Pack Flag.  Remember your Pack Flag too.  Mega brownie-points for bringing your Pack Flag!

RSVP: No RSVP required for the August 14th class.  Just show up by 8am, with the items above, and $5 for lunch.
